If their culture is against birth control, I do not believe its our place to tell them otherwise. On the other hand we should not have to take their over flow. If they can't control their own population, the best thing for us to do is to lock their population within their own country unto something breaks. It's not our place to tell them what they should believe, its not our place to bail them out from those mistakes that are derived from it. This goes for all nations, though. The population explosion in Nigeria scares me even more. I do believe if they ask for help we should send people to help educate them, but we can't take in all the people that are starving and whats more if we do, they would still continue to replace those that immigrate here.

Although you might be on to something, your statement might have some merit, it's kind of hard to sit in judgment. I think one of the biggest problems with the influx of immigrants and the surrounding debate is that we don't fully understand Mexican culture. I know a Mexican family that is die-hard Catholic and the mother never did use birth control (she has 9 kids). Based on her beliefs and her Mexican heritage she lived her life differently than many Americans see fit.
I might not agree with the influx of illegal immigrants, or agree in the disdain of birth control, or agree with running away rather than fixing the problem, but then again it's hard to make a judgement call when I don't understand the circumstances. Have you ever lived your whole life in a nasty, poor country and just wished for somewhere better? I haven't, so I don't know what the desperation feels like that leads them to run away. Finally, it would take a centralized effort to fix the Mexican economy, government, etc. At this point they don't have it and so each individual is doing what he needs to do to make his life better. When 20 thousand are trying for a better life, but doing it individually, you end up with 20 thousand immigrants. What needs to happen to fix this problem is for some central figure to allow these 20 thousand to get a better life together (i.e. by fixing Mexico).
