I will state now that I am not pro-illegal immigration, but I can understand why someone would rather come to America, than stay in Mexico, and I don't think there is an American alive who would do the opposite in their place.
I suggest that the ex-governor learn his U.S. history before making idiotic remarks like that, and I do not think learning the history of the nation you love so much would hurt you either. People built this country, cultures built this country, immigrants built this country. Insane proclamations are made like this every time a new culture is introduced into our society. I understand the need to control the population for the good of all the people within that population, but I don't understand the need to destroy the rich cultural differences that make us Americans.
I love this country for what it is, an abundance of cultures and people, intertwined to fit the benefits of the other cultures around them. Even if these people are not entirely American, their children will be, and these children will be the ones to submerge themselves in the mix that is American culture. Everyone has a little to offer to make the American culture truly authentic, and that is why I am proud to be an American.
