Passport expired?
Answer:
You cant come to the is until you renew your passport... just get it renewed and you im sure you should be fine.. as long as you got all your resident papers in order !
i'm afraid you maybe might have to reapply for residency... the best thing you can do is contact uscis.com . or by phone 18003755283 and explain your situation...good luck wiht your case.
It depends- you have couple of issues:
1. Nature of your crime. If you crime amounts to felony or even a serious misdemeanor, you might not be able to retain your permanent resident status.
2. Length of your stay away from US. Any stay over 6 months raises lot of eyebrows with Immigration people at airport. If you are away for one year or more, you will be seriously questioned. You should be prepared to answer questions and provide proof of why you were out for so long. Once you provide explanation of you being out for a criminal record you will pretty much be in trouble and referred to a Judge.
Of course you need to have valid passport to travel.
Do you have any paperwork regarding this case? I think you'd probably have papers saying that you must stay in the country etc..
Might be easier to go to the US embassy with the expired passport and court orders insisting you stay in the Philippines and request an emergency passport to get you home (I think they're free but you'll have to get your photos taken and fill out a form). Emergency passports usually last about a year or less and are designed to get people who lose their passport/or let them expire get home.
