If I return to live in the UK, will I receive the current old age pension?
I miss my people and my country and I want to go home but I'm scared.
Answer:
Nope you will only get the same amount which is based on the National In surance contributions you made. You will of course get free health care and welfare benefits as a UK citizen if you still have your UK citizenship.
I believe you are asking the wrong forum this question. You
should be asking through the UK Yahoo site. I would suggest
you ask your local immigration office for those specifics if
you want the correct information. Your system works differ-
ently than ours, and so I doubt anyone thru this forum can
give you the correct info you are looking for. I have a net
friend in the UK who has it made in his retirement. He
can travel, get a new car every so many years, and he has
no money problems. Ask a retired person here in the states
how well he has it after retirement. My husband and I live on
one low SS payment a month. Far far below the national
poverty level. So many programs have been cut to help the
elderly, that it's shameful. Go back to England and get on
their dole. I think you will be far happier in the long run.
*hugs* Sorry I can't give you any relevent info but you I thought you needed a hug. ^_^
