What are the requirements to legalize an immigrant relative?
Answer:
To petition for a relative you need to summit an I-130, petition for an alien relative. They are other ways, it all depends on your situation. You can obtain that form in this link: http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/m...
Good luck!
Hmm - is this relative an illegal, or a relative still living in the other country?
Depends if they are already here and illegal. If so they have to return to their native country and then apply.
They have to do it them self if at least 18 yrs old. They need to stay home, file paperwork, go through the LEGAL process, and if granted , then come, otherwise they will be breaking the law, be considered a criminal.
The process to "legalize" an illegal alien is for the illegal alien to go home and then start the process of legally applying for a visa.

Get all your information "right from the horse's mouth" as we used to say... Don't bother with the "Fluff and Hype" of any law-firm websites until you know what the U.S. Government says first... And above all, avoid hearsay! It is always best in life to confirm things "directly with the source" or governing body that propigates these laws.
