Yes, they should be granted citizenship. Entering the country without permission or overstaying with a Visa is not a serious offence. We have much worse criminals to worry about, pedophilliacs, murderers etc. Yet, noone ever complains that pedophilliacs are allowed to be citizens, though the offence they commit is among the worst. Citizenship should be taken away from anyone who commits a serious offence.

Why don't we ask the Native Americans... This country is a nation founded by immigrants, and the only ones that are native have justa small patch of land. As long as they pay there taxes and aren't killing people I don't mind. We need people to keep the gene pool varied. I agree they're illegal, but so are things that shouldn't be. and things that are legal that shouldn't be. They should make them at least pay a heavy fine if they want to stay. If they don't wanna pay then send them packing.
I think they should be allowed to apply for legal citizenship and go through the normal process.I dont think they should be just given it.Our multicultural society is what makes this country great.

NO! it's not fair to all the other immigrants not from mexico who come and wait years to become a citizen. if that's the case then every immigrant who comes to this country should be legalized. also, what do the rich ppl think will happen when they are legalized? they will want to work for more money than the pennies they pay them to work illegally. If they are going to do it the right way and be respectable and live like we do ( not taking our jobs for 5 cents an hour) compared to our 10 dollars or whatever, dont have 15 people living in one room, dont be screwing little girls, no welfare, no social security, no coming over here to open business for 5 yrs bc you have to pay no taxes and so on i say more power. But they should to live like us, learn our language and leave theirs in their country (not us learn their language).
