Answer:
If you are a legal permanent resident who was issued an I-551 valid for 10 years, then you may renew your card by filing Form I-90 and paying the fee. The fee now is $260, but starting July 30, 2007, it will be $370. You may renew your card now if it will expire in the next 6 months.
If your wife is a conditional resident (green card valid only for 2 years), she needs to have the conditions removed on her permanent resident status by filing Form I-751; the fee now is $275 and will be $545 by July 30.
