In America,mirrors are higher up than two feet,so they don't have to look at themselves.
Their loyalty is to their people and their pockets.
But really...do Americans really care any more about this country than any illegal immigrant does? Most of us are here for the same exact reason they are...to make a lot of money rather easily and live a lavish lifestyle.and nothing more. They could care less about this country and what it was founded for...but rather just for their own selves.and we are simply attracting others that seek what we have and love.
There loyalty is to kin, to family, and to human decency. Our current immigration laws are immoral and disgusting. We raped the economies and natural resources of South American countries, destroying the possibility for those economies to supply enough jobs to their natives. Then, we create a fake set of immigration laws that pretend to say immigration is illegal, but in fact encourage people to come and stay in the U.S., so long as they work dangerous jobs for criminally low pay. Then the U.S. consumer reaps the benefit in the form of cheap produce, clean offices, and affordable housing. Then, anytime we need a scapegoat, we turn to the immigrant (legal or illegal) This has happened numerous times in U.S. history--look to eighteenth century treatment of the Chinese, early twentieth century treatment of Eastern Europeans, or the disgusting rounding up of Japanese during WWII into internment camps. I was born here, I'm not hispanic, and I say either we shape up our attitude with respect to South & Central America (no more support for terrorists, no more "war on drugs", no more manipulation of their economies) or open the border to everyone.
my brother in law is from mexico, he is a legal citizen of the usa, and he will tell you he's american. and what the illegals are doing is not right. he said he payed to come here. then they should pay to be here.
First of, I would like to tell you that I am greatly offended by your beginning statement- "how does the Hispanic American look at themselves in the mirror?"
That's like some one saying how does the white America look at themselves in the mirror knowing neo-Nazi American groups are still well and alive, How do African American look at themselves knowing the crime rate in their community has increased among them. Do you see, how wrong and pliantly stupid this assertion sounds?
I'll tell you one thing. Every morning god gives me, I awake and look at myself in the mirror-I don't see a Hispanic American or a 'Chicano' or Mexican American or whatever you wish to label me. All I see is an American,period. No different from an 'Irish American', 'African American' 'German American", All I know and see are Americans.
No, I am not frustrated at individual hardworking family's trying to better their lives, whom truly believe and the American dream and whom truly want to be American like me and you. What does angry me however, are those that have illegal status in the U.S and commit crimes. They are the sole small percentage of illegals that really fu** every thing up for the rest. What does piss me off, are those whom just want to come here to wave a fu**n Mexican flag by city hall and demand legal status. Those whom just want a green card so they don't have to pay a coyote to smuggle them in and out of the country, they don't deserve anything but a ticket home!!
That is why I think the new proposal for immigration is possible, no one is going to just get legal status. They have to prove that they want to be here and belong to this country. I would advocate for mandatory military enlistment for young men and women who meet requirements. You have to earn the American dream, as did your fathers and our fathers as a whole. The new immigration agreement consist of a system of points.It's not a hand out...

BTW, i am an American first and foremost and i look at myself in the mirror every morning knowing that ppl like u will always need a helping hand.
