if it is the school district, Federal law requires them to have either teachers who can use the native language of their students (even if the students are here illegally) or provide a full time interpreter until the child learns sufficient English to be self-sustaining.
so, if this is the case -- complain to Congress.

Our country's native language is English. In the past, when people legally immigrated to the USA they willingly assimilated into our culture and learned our language. This is just another example of the ridiculous level of government we now have in place.
10% is a significant minority, and it's in the town's interests to be able to provide service to all its residents. It says 'all other qualifications being equal'. That means, if you're not bilingual but you have more experience or are in any way a better candidate, you still get the job. So I don't think it would prejudice anyone's application unless they weren't the best canditate anyway.
It is not correct, or proper such absurd policies are only hurting the community. Its easier to control people if you can segregate them by language.
NO.many countries have official languages. the US MUST adopt English as the official language of the land.

As a White male growing up in the 60’s & 70’s I have experienced reverse discrimination all of my life. This comes as no surprise to me what so ever.

It is for people who applies for the position in the company to be able to correspond and work with everyone, and wont seems stupid by not understanding a question of someone that is only single lipped or monolingual

There is a misconception here, English is the De Facto language of the United States, English is not the official language of the US. While28 states have passed Official English only requirement that are being challeged in court .Other states allow the use of a second language Such as Louisiana French and English are used , in New Mexico has laws for the use of both Spanish and English And Puerto Rico Spanish is used. Nichols) federal law mandated the a district is required to meet the needs of their students.There are two types of Bilingual Education Transitional and maintenance. All qualifications being equal the school district would hire the bilingual person.
