My girlfriend and I were discussing where we want to live when we finish college. At first we were thinking of places in the U.S. but after a while we started thinking out side America and decided on Australia. I have researched immigrating and I know that you have to have 120 points on a certain point scale to get a working Visa. I was wondering if anyone might be able to tell me our chances of obtaining one? We are both at a good University in America (University of Tennessee). I am either going to get my law degree or a MBA, while my girlfriend will be a qualified teacher (qualified in U.S. anyway) after completing a 5 year program. By the time we would move I would be around 25 while she would be 23. I do have some family in Australia, but not sure how closely related. Also English is our first language. How close would we be to qualifying and would it make a difference if we were married before we move? Also how are American Law degrees seen in the job market vs an American MBA?

You'd be better of married because then you can apply together and as a family.
Your girlfriend will be welcomed because she's trained as a teacher. I hesitate to comment on the law degree because Australian law is different from American so there may be a need to catch up. Both will be looked favourably upon if they have worked in their chosen professions.
If you don't know how closely you're related to your Aussie cousins then they don't count. They count if they're immediate family and willing to support you (and you'd probably need a birth certificate to show the links).
