I am planning to become a US citizen, but I'd rather live permanently in the UK, I've been to London a few times, and it is so much more progressive and cosmopolitan..and I know that having an American passport/citizenships can be beneficial when applying for residence abroad? Any suggestions? I currently hold a Mexican passport/citizenship and permanent residence in the States.
Answer:
Yes a naturalize citizen can seek residence abroad. If you live permanently there it is ok, but if you get UK citizenship you can lose your US citizenship. When you get your US citizenship stay in the country for a year then you can move because you can also lose your citizenship.
You can do this. But why would you want to live in so many countries. Why not live in 1 place and vacation at other places.
That is soooooooo mean! You are betraying the land that sheltered you for however long you have been here... Where is your loyalty?
Certainly, but why don't you become a British subject? I guess I really know the answer. Yes, get your US citizenship and then move to the UK.
Move on Bro... don't stop here.
Yes, but must pay our taxes for 10 years.
