Uhh, Congress never FUNDED the fence...it will NEVER happen.
Bush's budget would fund about half of the fence. Several Democrats are saying they want to 'rethink' it. Now I expect to see it in Kennedy's new bill, but as a 'condition' for all of the other things Kennedy wants.
This is not "one subject that American citizens agree with each other on."
It doesn't matter how many fences are built; people who want to come to America will find a way.
we have more to worry about with the illegals and drugs coming in from the border. they are coming in threw Louisiana. look up on lake Charles.that whole state is ridden with drugs coming in from Mexico. you will even see the most wanted list of people who is wanted for bringing drugs in, and selling them.

Did you really believe they were going to build a fence a coupla thousand miles long along our southern border? C'mon, you are not that naive. That was nothing more than another of Bushies "feel good" acts that he does occasionally to pander to the christian right-wingers and the whackos and get them off his back.
Even if they did build a fence, it wouldn't stop illegals from entering the U.S. They would just find another way...a quick boat from northeast Mexico, bypassing the fence which would end in Texas, to one of our Gulf shorelines is all it would take. Then, of course, they could just put a coupla sticks of dynamite near a section of the fence and blow it to kingdom come. By the time border officials got there, they would be gone.
Please don't believe everything you hear just because you agree with it. Literally thousands of immigrants arrive by small boat through the Gulf and Caribbean, along the eastern and western coastline. You cannot stop the flow.
We must come up with a guest worker program or another means to permit those from Mexico to enter our country legally to work. That is the only solution.
