When the Senate discusses Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act - S.1639 will they make substantial improvement

to the immigration system, or are they still playing around with cosmetic changes, with temporary visas and other palliatives which only put off the eventual resolution of the illegal alien problem? Do we have enough funding to actually build that 4000 mile fence? And to pay the National Guard and other agencies which have increased to patrol and safeguard our borders?

Answer:
The bill will go down in a ball of flames! It will not pass, so don't worry about it.
No, S.1369 is just a renumbering of the same crappy bill that got squelched last week. Congress is so desperate to pander to the Hispanic vote that they're willing to turn us into Northern Mexico to get them.
He11 NO !!!
They won't
Amazon Precess , that is a great site , get the word out . Thank you !!

The bill is a crock. They are now discussing HR800 (no secret votes for unions) which for some reason they are raising along with S1639.

S1639 ALLOWS enforcement but doesn't require it any more than our current laws required the government to enforce them. The fence does not need to be built (and no, it is nothing like 4000 miles) until after 'provisional' legalization is given and 450,000 more family visas come on line. It is only the z visas that are delayed until 'triggers' are met, but since the provisional legalization extends until the z visas are in place, what difference does it make?

They CAN'T offer free amendments, only those decided on in a back room will be brought out at all. They have allotted two lumps of time for debate and the speakers will allocate 5 minute slots in that time to their partisans ONLY, who will speak in favor of pre-selected amendments.

It is entirely unsettling that our government is ramming through something hugely impacting our lives, that they KNOW Americans don't want with a procedure only used 2ce before in the history of the US Congress.
We have enough money. If we can spend billions of dollars in Iraq, we can build a fence and fund the border patrol
There is nothing significant..only they pretty much laxed the rules for employers.
Otherwise it still full of loopholes that pretty much allows amnesty type entry.
As for the fence..it will be years before it is even completed not to mention years of court fights because of enviromental laws.
It will flood our social service system that's already overburdened.
So expect tax increases.
To call this a way to secure the border is a farce...1986 was to "fix" the problems..all it did was allow even more uneducated unskilled workers that Mexico does not want.
We have become Mexicos welfare program.
I don't think they will.

There's so many senators who oppose an immigration reform because they say it will give "criminals" special treatment (that they will be rewarded for coming here illegally).

My biggest question is, if the do not want an immigration reform, how do they expect to solve all these problems which they are blaming on illegals?

I see and read about people who are constantly whining about how illegals take our tax dollars for health care, free education, government aid ---- that they take away jobs from American citizens-----I could go on forever. BUT they don't want an immigration reform because it costs SOOO MUCH MONEY . so what do they suggest we do? Kick everyone out? That's going to cost just about as much as legalizing these people.

It's like saying that I want to loose weight but I will not exercise and eat healthy .. even though no exercise and unhealthy food is what's causing me to gain weight. Or like saying I want money but I'm not working!

THEY CONTRADICT THEMSELVES!
We can only hope.
The senate if the bill passes will destroy the border security provisions will be struck down in committee in favor of the amnesty provisions. We must need to stop the bill NOW!
