Want to help a Firend.?

My best friend is having a baby by a guy would we found is not a legal citizen. What does he have to do to get his papers to stay here legally and how much does it costs? We live in Mississippi and any good information will help.

Answer:
Marriage...then the US Citizen could file an application for a green card...assuming he has a legal entry. Price ican be quite a bit...check C.I.S. website.
well he shouldnt have kept that from her (im not saying anything bad about him i dont even know the guy) but im not sure . i guess you could do a little research to find out
I believe if you go to the country of the immigrant and marry there, you would be allowed to bring your new spouse home. Then fill out the paperwork to stay.
Say I went to Italy and married there, I would be able to bring my bride home with me, then do paperwork to make her a citizen.
I believe they would have a better chance if they get married in his country and then go the legal route. It shouldn't cost much that way either. It may take a year or so for him to get all of the green cards and work papers but that really is a short time to do things right.
The process will be a lot quicker if they marry in his country. They will have to be apart for a few months but he'll be here legally in a few months. If they decide to wait it out here, he'll be here illegally for years.
