Does an American need a visa to live in an EU country? Specifically Romania?

I am married to a Romanian and want to find out if I need a visa to live there. They have just recently joined the EU. I don't know if that makes a difference.

You can stay without visa for 90 days, after that you will have to get a residence permit (which shouldn't be a problem if you're married with a Romanian citizen).
