British visa Rules - ehitcal? racist? visitor does not need to know english?
Answer:
you can visit the uk and not speak the language , but if you want to live/work here you have to be able to embrace and contribute to our great nation that means speaking and writing English, and yes it is ethical its called the law!
there are rstrictions and some of them are quite frankly racist...and class biased.
you can pretty much come and go on a student visa if your from overseas and pay massively hiked tuition fees that support home students...you then have more chance to overstay or try to remain here of marry to stay here as many do...
but if you are from the commonwealth and some islands in the distant pacific you need to find a sponsor to visit this place.who will agree to bond you in the event you run up costs...
fact - not many people travel from the pacific compared to visits from India and Pakistan and that compared to the visits from europeans including french this is a much high proportion probably accounting for about 2/3 of all visits to this country...
and people complain about the number of black migration whilst french people come here and sit on the benefits system and half a million poles entered this country last year??
On the grounds that they come to the uk and set up their ghettos where they carry on the lives of their country or origin but with no regard for the british way of life. And they get all the perks of a country that is one of the most succesful in the history of this planet.
But British people who go to places like Spain and refuse to learn the language are just as bad.
You play on someone elses pitch, you play by their rules!
*whistles* A better place to put this would have been the Law and Ethics. Still, because of agreements EU and EEA citizens can easily move about to different countries and not speak their language (employers are not obliged to hire them if they do not speak the language required).
Is it ethical? Not really.
racism
They learn how to say HELLO and that gets them in. I don't think that speaking english is an necessity for them to get in. It might say it on paper but I don't believe it. A polish family was living across from me and none of them could speak english, either they were pretending not to or were just being plain Ignorant.
