What is your stance on illegal immigration/amnesty? And why?
Answer:
Well I don't care how many thumbs down I get for this, this is MY opinion & I'm entitled to have it.
*no wall is needed. It would be a waste of money.[shovels, ladders, wire cutters] we just need more well trained border patrol. Our borders would be much safer & we'd be creating more America jobs.
*the self-deportation theory is laughable.Why?
b/c we have some of the toughest drug laws in America and the use and selling of narcotics is still a big problem.
*we need to deport all the violent criminals 1st
*we need a guestworker program[aka have the ones w/ jobs pay a fine & learn English]
edit:I hate to burst your antis fantasies BUT mass deportation is impossible & expensive.I mean come on it takes4flippin months to get a passport, anyone who expects mass deportation in their lifetime in off in la-la land.
This is such a tough call. On one hand, I'm for consistency because amnesty is unfair to those legal immigrants who have worked incredibly hard to get here and stay here. Like my father, among others. ON THE OTHER HAND, many of the so-called "illegal immigrants"' have ancestors who were literally pushed out of their own land to Mexico, and the land technically belongs to THEM. So how do we have the gall to say they should not come here, when we initially forced them out unjustly? So I have to ask God what He thinks, because this is such a nuanced and difficult issue.
Bush immigration reform bill ONLY.
My opinion is that anyone who want's to be an American is welcome. However, there are too many illegals who don't want to be Americans. They want to stay Chicano, and this is a problem. The problem isn't immigration, it's the people who are illegal immigrants.
The American infrastructure was built on the backs of the people here illegally. It is like would you dismantle the house frame that is holding your house up for so many years, just because it came from Mexico?
I don't want the US to have the overpopulation issues that Japan has. Can you imagine having a cap on how many kids you have. Do people really want the government to say "Hey...you can only have one kid." And this is really the least of the problems. How about taxes, pollution, crime, etc., etc.
The United States is now an established country. Immigration is not necessary as it was a hundred years ago. I wish the government would be reasonable and stop the floods.
There should be no amnesty, and at the rate of the thousands that are crossing the boarders of our country from Mexico, we should buy Mexico and just make it another couple of states. This is hurting our country. The cost of hospital and medical bills just keeps rising and the reason for most of this is all the immigrants that cross the boarder to have their babies free of charge only to have us tax payers pay their bill. Not to mention the schools. And then they expect us to learn Spanish when they wanted to be in our country and be an American then by golly learn to speak English. I could go on and on. This really burns me up.
Partys over, their will NEVER be another SHAMNESTY. Democrats that pander to ILLEGALS will go down In flames In 2008,you can count on It.
They call it illegal for a reason. To come here illegally and make such demands is outrageous. Not paying taxes puts a drain on our, schools, health care systems, etc. and thus is unfair to the average working citizen. To come here and insist we add another flag and teach all children a second language because you refuse to speak English is ridiculous and unfair to Americans!! There are plenty of immigrants who have come here legally and been an added value to our society. Why should we have to bend the rules for anyone?? Maybe we need to start having our own rallies.
To grant amnesty to millions of illegal immigrants is unfair for those who came here legally. There should be no short cuts to US citizenship other than those provided by law. To do otherwise will send a wrong message to would be illegal immigrant to our country that it's OK circumvent our laws... all they have to do is cry wolf and then the US congress will grant them citizenship. Let's not set precedence here.
Illegal immigration is a violation of the law of the land. PERIOD. The people who break our laws by invading our country do not have, nor should they have the same rights and privileges as those who have legally entered this land.
To grant them amnesty is hypocrisy. It is a slap in the face of the millions of legal immigrants and it will only open the flood gates even wider for a whole new group of people who think nothing of breaking our laws to further their own lives thru our economy.
I would like to further my own life economically. Does this mean that if 12 millions of my fellow Americans and myself went out and robbed banks, we should be granted amnesty? I mean if we all had jobs that nobody else wanted, and paid our taxes, and subsequently brought children into this world why not? Of course if there was any talk of arresting us for breaking the law, we could always stage massive rallies, where all of us bank robbers could march in the streets for our right to rob banks to further ourselves economically.
Facetiousness aside, there are laws on the books right now that aren't being enforced. ENFORCE THEM. To fail the American public in enforcing immigration laws, promotes apathy towards all laws. It lowers the faith of the American people in our government ( not that it can get much lower than it is already ) and creates an atmosphere of lawlessness that cannot be tolerated, lest anarchy follow.
No amnesty, deport the illegals. Why? Just look around Los Angeles and you won't ask why.
I am against Illegal Immigration.so no amnesty!
Why?,
1) They are criminals first off from the very first step they took into America. Then to further exacerbate it, they work here without permission breaking another law.they then forge false ID's and steal peoples identities...breaking YET another law...shall I go on?
2) They take out much more than what they put into the system. Therefore I pay for services that are stolen and/or diluted, while they gain from what I pay. examples? overburdened schools, bankrupt Hospitals, medical benefits that we the tax payers pay for. I can go on and on ad nauseam...
3) They depress wages which often force Americans out of their jobs because we cant live on what the Illegal alien will take.
4) they leave unpaid debts that the American taxpayer has to ultimately pay for.
If this wasnt enough, they come in here and wave their flags and protest in a country that isnt even theirs to begin with? Hows that for crapping where you eat? I say that they need to leave now...no Amnesty...period...
The senate bill was an instant amnesty bill which I worked hard to defeat. Illegal immigrants should be deported no matter how many anchor babies they have produced. I would allow aliens with college degrees, young children with good school records, and agricultural workers to stay in the US, if they passed a thorough background check.
We are a nation of laws, and those who break our laws do not deserve to be rewarded with citizenship. They should be deported and they can apply for a visa when they return home.
I would have to say no amnesty, and not neccisarilly because of mexicans, but because our borders are open to terrorist,AND DRUG DEALERS,AND RAPIST,AND PETOFILES,.If a democrat or republican went to the border and realized how easy it is to get feak documents? And put a stop to it,,Thats how easy it is,They dont care as long as they get votes, well republicans are toast,Bushes aim to amnesty for votes backfired, and democrats are just using illegals for a vote too, until Americans get sick of their greed we will still be humoring this illegal issue,And you ask what my stance is,I would have to say I am still watching politicians,AND i WILL VOTE FOR THE ONE WHO BRINGS OUR KIDS HOME TO FIGHT FOR OUR OWN COUNTRY.
My stance is to prohibit amnesty in any form.
Why?
Previous amnesties have set a bad precedent in that illegal immigrants believe that they will just be let in. It encourages illegal immigration.
Amnesty is grossly unfair to those who attempt to immigrate legally.
A nation has a right and obligation to control it's boarders.
Persons who ignore the laws of the nation exhibit very bad judgment in the least and a disrespect for law. I view deliberately infiltrating a countries boarders in a clandestine manor as a very serious crime.
The US attempts to administer immigration by quota fairly. People throughout the world wish to immigrate and no population should be given an advantage simply because they have a connected boarder.
Illegal Immigrants from whatever country, are entitled to receive substantial amounts of welfare, food stamps, low cost housing, free health care and free education. These are benefits that should only be given to CITIZENS.
The problem with Illegal Immigration is that they are treated with more consideration and respect than any middle class American Taxpaying Citizen.
Therefore, WHY would these Illegal immigrants WANT to become citizens?? There is no motivation. They get everything they want, including a country who bends over backwards to cater to their Native Language.

The amnesty of 1986 was supposed to end illegal immigration, and it is a failed experiment. In the 1950's Eisenhower implemented a program where more than 10 times the illegal aliens self-deported than were detained and deported.
All amnesty does is encourage more.
I am firmly pro-legal immigration.
I am firmly opposed to illegal aliens being allowed access to our nation, it's resources, schools, health care, etc. Any so-called benefit they claim to bring is a mere drop in the bucket to what they take. They rob our economy by sending billions of dollars out of the nation annually. They depress wages, especially in the blue-collar job market. Crime by illegal aliens is rampant from nonviolent crimes like fraudulent papers, identity theft, or property damages to violent crimes.
The border needs secured, and all illegal aliens deported.
