How does a country become territory of the United States of America?
Answer:
It's unlikely that the USA will ever again add territories. The last territories added were some of the Pacific Islands following World War 2.
Yes, and yes. But don't hold your breath.
we have to conquer it in a war first.pr and quam were won in the spanish american war.iraq seems to be a little more tricky.
I suppose they could ask but they never would and if they did it wouldn't be granted. The rulers (government), of other countries would never want to give up their power and the citizens wouldn't allow it anyway.
All of the properties of the U.S. were either purchased, defeated or won by defeating another country. Sometimes they end up becoming states (Hawaii, La, etc) and sometimes they are given their independence - Philippines.
NO! Its the other way around. We are trying to get rid of them.
any country can ask it up to congress to say OK or not!!
Mexico is too big to big a territory.
Next thing you know, every other nation will ask to be a part of the union and next thing you know the world is only made up of two or three countries/superpowers. Don't you think that's dangerous?
What a strange question to ask.
There are rumors that President Bush has plans to incorporate BOTH Mexico and Canada into the US. I'm not sure how Mexico or Canada feels about this but I doubt Bush cares. I mean it's not like he cares about what the American people want so why should he care about two lesser countries.
Anyway, there are speculations this is the reason for Bush's open borders policy. In my opinion this is a bad move, no country should be that large/powerful as to conquer an entire continent. It spells bad news for the future.
