Question: If you live in Quebec and want to separate from the rest of Canada, then isn't that treason?

Answer:
Of course!! Canada helps Quebec, also there is no point to separate, if it does I'll run away to Toronto, as it is better to be canadian than quebequer

There is no point on separating to create a nation of nearly two cities (Quebec and Montreal) and you would be denying yourself the possibility of living in such wonderful places like Vancouver!!
Yes because they don't show loyalty to canada, and wanting to seperate basically means rebellion. But i don't think it will happen cuz those wannabe french have been talkin about it for years so canadians shouldn't wory about whether it is or not
From what I have heard, the seperation movement is and has been talked about for decades, but will never actually happen.

I met a french guy from Quebec, and his take on it was that it is a omni-present topic that the politicians bring up to keep people wound up.

Look at Quebecs geographic location, if it succeeded, Canada would be a mess.

Conclution: Never happen.
Sometimes, the definition of the word "treason" is in the eye of the beholder.

A little story about your neighbor to the south: Once upon a time in North America, there was a rather large group of people that felt they were not being adequately represented in the government which controlled them. They felt that they were not being heard, were being ignored and mistreated, and generally felt unappreciated. So this group of people decided to rebel against the government which controlled them by declaring themselves separate and independent of them, and then banding together to form their own nation with their own government. Of course, the original government didn't like this idea very much and immediately branded them 'rebels' and 'traitors,' and sent troops to invade the land of the rebels and subjugate them, thus bringing the people back under the control of the central government. A long and bloody war ensued, but victory was evenutally gained.

The new nation was defeated and forced to submit to the will of the original government. Life in the defeated land was forever changed.

Bet you thought I was talking about the American Revolution, didn't you? Nope, sorry...I was talking about the War Between the States, also known as the War for Southern Independence and, by those more uneducated folks, the Civil War.

Just goes to show that the definition of the word "treason" is truly in the eyes of the beholder.
