Yes, prisons must still receive minimum wage, and are not required to take part in work release programs, especially those who are in for life, or death.
Illegals can still be paid less and work +40 hours a week with no benefits and no repercussions as long as the employer doesn't get caught.
The part about prisoners and work sounds fabulous.
But most corporations aren't interested in putting American criminals to work but have no problem apparently with foreign ones.
That's a great idea, but probably won't happen. I think prisoners should build our highways. That would lessen the tax burden, but that discussion is for another day. Prisoners and their advocates, the ACLU and such would say that it is forced labor and violating thier rights (like they have any, I feel that once you commit a crime, and infringe on someone else's rights, you should lose your rights, but unfortunately in our society sometimes the criminals have more rights than the victims). Another issue is that most of the work that illegals are doing is in the private sector, and how would you decide who the jailbirds would work for, it would be unfair to their competitors.

no, even prisoners wouldn't go out there and pick your crops. And some people cry," the illegals are taking away jobs". boo hoo. Gimme a break! You people wouldn't go out there and clean toilets even if your kids are starving.
Nope the twisted legal system won't allow that. Ya can't use prisoners cause that would be "slave labor" But you can always use a bunch of law breakers from out side the country because that's the right thing to do...sheeesh no wounder this country is in trouble...
