Are the amnesty supporters demanding, amnesty for criminals, now, so they can use it as a concession later?
Answer:
Possible, the house looks much less friendly upon this bill than the Senate and if they (the supporters) can say they tried they will be able to save face with a certain area of voters and depending on which state you are from that could be very important. If you will notice the states that have nothing to gain (or loose) are blunt about saying what a steaming pile of poo this bill is. Who knows what is on the minds of the lawmakers, they never seem to make sense anymore.
Great question from an angle that I have yet to see any one use and for that I will give you a star.
No. They are going for the brass ring. They want it all.
They won't get it, but they want it.
NO amnesty.
NO criminals living in MY Country.
In my best Gray Poopon voice:
But of courseā¦
Why do you say debate ? It looks very clear to me. White Americans hate brown skin illegals and therefore do not want them to have amnesty. Other Americans like myself do not hate illegals and therefore do not mind if they get amnesty. Any thing else besides "hate" is just an excuse.
Enforce Immigration Laws!
1. If you migrate to this county, you must speak the native language
2. You have to be a professional or an investor. No unskilled workers allowed.
3. There will be no special bilingual programs in the schools, no special ballots for elections, all government business will be conducted in our language.
4. Foreigners will NOT have the right to vote no matter how long they are here.
5 Foreigners will NEVER be able to hold political office.
6. Foreigners will not be a burden to the taxpayers. No welfare, no food stamps, no health care, or other government assistance programs.
7. Foreigners can invest in this country, but it must be an amount equal to 40,000 times the daily minimum wage.
8. If foreigners do come and want to buy land that will be okay, BUT options will be restricted. You are not allowed waterfront property. That is reserved for citizens naturally born into this country.
9. Foreigners may not protest; no demonstrations, no waving a foreign flag, no political organizing, no bad-mouthing our president or his policies, if you do you will be sent home.

I just sent a note to the first poster.
I tried to explain that Americans are not against immigration. Our country was founded and built by immigrants.
But there's a difference between immigrants and illegal aliens.
Immigrants intend to settle in their new home country. They want to contribute to its growth and success. They want to adopt the new culture in which they find themselves. They work hard all day, and, at night, go to class to learn the things necessary for citizenship. They abide by the laws of the land.
Aliens have no intent to settle permanently. They have no loyalty to the country in which they find themselves. They don't care about the culture. And they don't particularly care to contribute anything to the country in which they find themselves.
Illegal aliens are criminals. That is what the phrase means. The fact that they sneak across the border because they are too lazy or too stupid, to go through legal entry procedures, or because they think they're above the law, shows intent to commit a crime. The fact that they are inside the United States without having gone through the legal procedures, that fact that they're breathing air inside these borders, outlaws them. The fact that they don't try to legalize their status indicates that they don't care.
Yet these avowed criminals expect us to learn their language, adopt their culture, give them benefits for which the United States has fought to preserve for its citizens. They expect to be rewarded for their criminal activity.
These are the people with whom the citizens of the United States have a problem.
Amnesty? I'm sure there are probably some people who entered the United States illegally, but who, through ignorance, or lack of time in their effort to survive, have failed to take care of all the formalities. I'm speaking of people who have been here for decades, who have paid their taxes, who have contributed to social security, who served their country. These deserve a chance to make right what has been overlooked for so long. Thirty days should be sufficient If one is too aged or infirmed to go though the process. Within that 30 days, their condition needs to be ascertained and perhaps some dispensation could be granted. These have contributed to the welfare of the country, certainly the country could make some small concession.
But, for those who blatantly flaunt out laws for their own gain, I think we ought to grant them free citizenship if they will report to a certain place to pick up the papers. When they show up, we just put cuffs on them and drop them off over the nearest border of the United States. For most of California, that would be 12 miles out to sea. Those who would support them could, if they so desire, finance transportation by government aircraft, to the remotest portion of the country from which they cane. I think probably $30,000 a head would suffice cover expenses. Of course, anything that the alien was able to accumulate would be seized.
I checked with an attorney. Apparently the illegal alien has no rights but to be deported. He doesn't have a right to a trial. He doesn't have a right to prison. I don't believe he even has the right to decent treatment. The only right he has is to leave the country and never return. And that's as it should be. Their amnesty--to be put across the border.
