I think the citizens of the US are more in tune to todays problems than ANY fatcat politician, and I ve always maintained that alot of things should be on the ballot (nationally) they get paid those fat salaries & have pd expenses for just about everything imaginable, and in my opinion one would be hard pressed to fina a single one of them who is concerned with any one of us .
I wanna kick the illegals out!
And ban gay marriage! Put 'em both on the ballot!
If by this bill you mean the immigration bill then yes I do believe that the America people should be the ones deciding whats going on.
anything this important should be voted on by the people. there is not hurry to get the bill passed so there should be a vote of the people. but, that could never happen, because it wouldnt pass.
We CAN vote against this bill by calling our Representatives and telling them if they support it they are gone in the next election. You can start by emailing Senator John McCain and let him know that he will never be President if this Amnesty Travesty passes.
The reason we elect these do nothings to Washington is because they are supposed to do our bidding for us. Unfortunately, their promises to us after they are elected, fade into the night sky and they are on the Government Teat, milking it for all it's worth. ONLY IN AMERICA.
I would say yes, but realistically that is not how it works... state issues we more or less get to vote for.. but federal issues, we elect in people to vote for and pass the laws, supposedly in the best interest of Americans... obviously they are doing a crappy job with this bill... but it's not passed yet, and it's not signed... so there's still hope we elected in the right people

you know what a lot of people are not talking about when it comes to this bill, that once the immigrants receive amnesty and get their visas they will inturn start paying the taxes that everyone is crying about. They are here anyways, the costs to get them, transport them and keep them out of the US will be far more than if they are just given their visas and start getting "legal" jobs because with these jobs come federal tax, state tax, medicare and social security automatically taken out. Others cry about companies hiring them for cheap labor, well the minimmum wage is not going down and since most so called americans dont want to work for so little then somebody has to do it, why not them? they do it already and under the table, so to conclude, give them amnesty and allow them to get raped by the taxes we "real americans" pay...

Have you noticed, of late, that the media has stopped calling these people "representatives" --- and not so slowly -- but with definate surity -- started calling them "law makers" ??
These scumbags KNOW what the American people think and feel about this garbage -- it simply doesn't matter to them !! AND, among the MANY reasons that this particular issue is on the table at this particular time ---is they feel they have the opportunity to get this done and then have some time for it to "fade" in the voters' memories by the time the next election comes !!
