Trancredo on immigration....? How many of you support this loco?
There are so many myths about the immigrants' impact on the US health care system--all demonstrably false.
A close examination of immigrants’ actual experience with the U.S. health care system
sheds light on the many obstacles immigrants encounter when they seek health insurance and health care. Low-income documented immigrants must wait five years before being eligible for public health insurance. And less than half of the states provide coverage
to select documented immigrant populations, such as children and pregnant women.
Furthermore, cumbersome administrative regulations regarding proof of citizenship status dissuade potentially eligible documented immigrants from applying to Medicaid and SCHIP. And although undocumented immigrants contribute to the economy through their labor and taxes, they are barred from federally-matched Medicaid services.
But that is not all. Documented and undocumented immigrants are almost always unable to access employer-based or private health insurance. The reason: the average health insurance premium for a family of four was roughly $11,500, nearly half of the average annual income of an immigrant worker.
Because of these limitations and restrictions, documented and undocumented immigrants are more likely to go without needed medical services and preventive health care, jeopardize health and welfare, and create some cost-shifting..
The increase of documented and undocumented immigrants into the U.S. is not the cause of the failing health care system. The health care system is broken in large part because 45 million
individuals lack health insurance and health care premiums have nearly doubled over the past six years. [Any effort to reform the American health care system should work to reduce barriers to health insurance coverage for immigrants. And any effort at immigration reform should also be informed by these facts.]
Why does Tom Tancredo keep pumping out hate-filled propaganda? How else would he get newspaper headlines? a podium at a debate? It's all for the glory of himself.

Tom Tancredo, you are ignorant. All of your proposals are funded in your racism and anti-immigrant sentiment. It is a shame to have you running an office. You may have a handful of followers that have managed to keep you in the House, but it will come to an end, eventually. At least Senator McCain or President Bush are proposing educated Bills based in facts and not in feelings like you are doing

Some people need to wake up. Close to 85% of American don't want ammesty. The Democratic congress has it wrong, they got in mostly because we were tired of congress greenlighting everything bush was doing with no oversite. I'm betting a lot of independants would change their vote if they could have seen the screwing we are going to get over immagration.

I guess I'll have to take a long hard look at Tancredo. He may have something there. Why should we pay for health care of the illegals? Why should we pay for anything for the illegals? We simply can not feed house and nurse to health every human on the planet. Is there no other country in the world that is responsible for their people?

1. More than 20% of prison population are illegals.
2. Hundreds of hospitals have closed their emergency rooms because of costs associated with services to uninsured (mostly illegals).
3. Illegals depress wages in many industries. Only a small minority of business owners who employ them actually benefit.
The rest of sociaty pays true costs associated with millions of uneducated people flooding the country.
If we got rid of Mexicans and negroes, America would be like Switzerland: very educated people, with almost no diseases and very little crime.
I support him 110%! He could very well be the next president because of his stand on illegal immigration.
80%+ of the voting public want exactly what he says he will do. The other 20% are probably just confused.
Tom Tancredo seems to be the only Congressman that has it right when it comes to dealing with illegal aliens. I wish there were more like him.
So why ask these questions if you believe what you believe. No one can change your mind. My tax dollars shouldn't have to go to pay for them to have free healthcare while I have to pay taxes AND pay healthcare for myself and my family. Hospitals have to shut down because they run after getting treatment leaving tax payers to pay their medical bills.
I'll vote for anyone that can help us Americans reclaim what we built.

You know, I've read what you said, and I've read what he's said, and they just don't match up.
And illegal immigrants already have too great an impact on our health and education. They don't contribute to US, just to employers who want cheap labor. We know a lot more than you give us credit for. Illegal immigrants aren't the only problems with these systems, but their impact is undeniably large.
I support him 100%. While obviously some his theories are off the wall, he is right about one thing. No amnesty for illegals. Do not ask us to speak spanish and I have seen every liberal poll there is supporting amnesty yet I dont know or heard of anyone being polled. Seal the border!!!!

And for your info, the local trauma center in my city in Florida did close down because of the illegal aliens using it as a medical insurance plan. Now we have to drive 160 miles to the closest trauma center.. so much for immediate help.
