Can Foreigners apply to be a US. Marine?
Answer:
Can foreign-born American citizens join the Military?
Yes. U.S. Citizens or Permanent Resident Aliens (people who have an INS I-151/I-551 "Green Card") may join the U.S. Military.
Can people join the U.S. Military if they are not American citizens?
Non-citizens may enlist, but cannot reenlist (extend their enlistment beyond their first term of service) unless they become naturalized U.S. citizens. However, after service of three years, additional residency requirements for citizenship can be waived. The Military does not assist in immigration naturalization process.
They need to at least have a green card.
yes they can, when it comes to war the united states and their citizens dont care if they are illegal or not, i will look for some stories in the past year or so where they were illegal immigrant fighting in Iraq and i will post them.
My brother's a Marine I'll ask him and get back to you.
OK. I just asked him and he said you only have to give a social security number. If you can contact a recruiter maybe through the website then they can give you more info. And just like the guy above me says they need people so maybe they'll take you. My brother said the same thing.
no you have to be a U.S. citizen
