How many immigrants does th USA allow each year?
Does anyone else who's been born and raised here - maybe 3rd , 4th, 5th generation American feel they are going to get cheated out of everything they and their families worked so hard for?
Why do these immigrants - like Eastern Europeans come over and establish little enclaves within neighborhoods and send all their money back home???
How is that American ?

We Americans have been blessed to have been born in a country that the fight for survival has been overcome by the majority. We have forgotten what our grandparents experienced during the Great Depression, a life consumed with only obtaining the basic necessities. So much so that our standards of living far exceed the majority of the worlds population.
The people of one of our closest neighbors are struggling in ways we have no capability of understanding and they have been forced to break laws to survive.
A father who can not find enough work to feed his family will cross borders and suffer humiliation and constant fear of discovery to earn enough to support his loved ones. Can any of us say that faced with the same circumstances we would not do the same?
The process to enter this country and work is so limited, especially to the poorest of our brothers and sisters, that only the wealthiest families are allowed to legally enter the United States, save for those in countries that we have considered refugee states.
Instead of demonizing these poor and desperate people we need to do whatever we can to help raise their standard of living, including offering support for the masses against corruption in their governments.
Lest we forget that our nation has been founded on immigration, we are a nation of refugees. Can we possibly deny the American way of life to anyone? God has blessed us, but God also requires that we share our blessings with those that are without.

Immigration is the backbone of your country, mate - is what has made it great - as no one but a native American is truly American, eh? In the late 1800s, there was complaints of the Irish and Chinese forming their own communities - later, there was complaints of the Germans, Poles and Italians doing the same. On a hopeful note, all of those groups did blend in and become American eventually.
BTW, I wish they would make it easier for frequent visitors. Every time I come to US, is a nightmare to go through, though all my papers are in order!

It depends on the country. Each year the U.S. will allow say a few hundred from China, 20 from Korea . . . You can probably find a list somewhere online.
Over 2 million people come into the USA each year legally on either immigration or work visas.
The illegal immigration problem will never be fixed or go away as long as all we Americans turn a blind eye to the real culprit in this. American business. If you stop employers from hiring illegals at slave wages, they will stop coming here to take the jobs. W says they take jobs most Americans won't take - damn right I won't work for a dollar or two and hour to make some fat, lazy business owner even richer.
I may be a liberal but I cannot condone amnesty for ILLEGAL immigrants. My father was an Immigrant. He came over legally, served in the Army and was proud to become a citizen. What is so hard to understand, they are here illegally! If they killed someone because they are broke and need to feed their children would that be acceptable? They are costing this country billions and contribute the least, unless one includes the raising of the crime rate. I live in an area where there are many illegals and in the last few years gang violence has increased five-fold. Is this what we are inviting to become citizens? Send them home and if they want into the U.S.A. let them get into line like those responsible people that follow the laws of this land.
