My h1b visa is valid till mid next year but my i-94 has a validity date till aug this year? is something wrong

I-94s have to be renewed every 6 months
You might want to call USCIS and explain them. Talk to your company lawyer and see what they have to say. I feel that you have to request a new I -94 with the valid date that should be the same as the date on your I-797 approval notice of your I-129 (h1b)
