Double Standard From Mexico?

I cant quit understand why all these illegal expect the red carpet treatment.Last time I checked americans can not even dare own a home in Mexico. Every "legal "immergant I know from all countrys not just Mexico would never dare collect one red dime from the goverment and they are all pertty fluent in English as well. Last time my white nephew went down to Mexico with some friends they were stoped by the "cops" and were forced to give up all their clothes, money, cell phones ,shoes, jewlery all the stuff they bought there as well or they were going to be put in jail my Nephew said it was the most frighting thing that ever happen to him. They were left with just their underware and their car to get home .Why can't americans have the same freedom in Mexico as Mexican expect here.? I have never herd of a illegal immergant being striped like my nephew and his friends were.

Answer:
The reason why that happend, is that all levels of Mexican Government is corrupt one way or another. If they tried reporting that to the Mexican National Government, something may or may not happend, but if what reported to the american media, then those cops might get punished, because mexico does not want to lose tourism. But, right now the federal government is having trouble with drug trafficers. So be careful.
Sucks huh? Like we would go to their country, and protest and DEMAND citizenship!
White people own resorts in Mexico where even native Mexicans are not allowed to enter. Also private beaches.
It is a total one way street. Not at ALL fair.
Wow thats not fair at all
i know some americans who own homes in mexico and in central america. sucks for your nephew. like some hispanics get treated horribly here, some americans get treated horribly over there. neither is fair. but it happens. not all hispanics and americans are evil .
your nephew and his friends should have sued the mexican govt and the police. make Americans wake up if need be. we need to build the fence.
because America has to do everything politically correct and we have to be nice to everyone, this country is to worried about stupid stuff than worry about the typical American..
The Mexican officials are very corrupt. The government is corrupt. It sucks. Do you know how many unexplained deaths or missing Americans there have been down there? It is very scary. I don't know. I have different opinions on the whole immigration issue. But I will tell you this, I would try to flee if my government was corrupt.
Not to mention the percentage of illegal immigrants that are criminals, and pursue criminal endeavors here as well. Do you know that illegal immigrants kill more Americans in drunk driving accidents each year than those Americans that lost their lives on 9/11. If an illegal immigrant were stripped here, the ACLU would lead the charge against the perpetrators. I'm tired of America getting the short end of the deal.
Sounds pretty extreme. If it's any comfort to you thin gs generally are expected to come to a head.

This would explain the effete presence of droves of white vehicles tightly formationed together recently.

It'd be interesting to see what the traffic patterns look like in Europe.

Mexico's NEVER been on my travel list.

One good thing about the drivel you get from the news and the one on one contact you get here is that, if that isn't enough input for you to make a decision on anything, you must be pretty dense.
Mexican police act the way we should be with them. We're too nice to them and so that encourages more to come. We need an electric fence at the border to keep them out. What happened to your nephew is dead wrong and I am sorry he had to go through it.
mm,,, so you don't want to ask anything? just b***h,,, so tell you're nephew he can go to the Mexican embassy maybe they can help him with this,,, but to me it seams like a movie plot,, cause I lived there for 4 years and never never had a problem, and YES AMERICAN CITIZENS CAN OWN LAND IN MEXICO,,, so that is a lie,, and yes illegal immigrants get robed, rape and murder by border agents or crazy Americans read the news,, it has happened in calexico, campo, etc,,, so where did you nephew went?
i have gone to mexico for a few spring breaks starting in highschool...cancun, puerto viarda, and such...i have had some really scary situations out there...even in cancun where we thought that it was so touristy criminals or the "Bad" police would never do anything to us...but you get off the strip of american tourists and your in a dangerous place...

what you say...i have also said at times about going into african american communities...i live in an area of the city thats probably more white, but with other immigrants and blacks as well...a black walking down our street has absolutely othing to fear...a roomate of mine moved to a more black neighborhood..and suddenly going out to see her felt like we had to cross intot he gates of hell...where for being a pretty 'white' blonde i had my purse stolen, and got hit upside the head in the process...the africans in that community literally harassed any white guy who was with us, to the point that even dates wouldnt risk their lives to go visit a friend.

so the same mexicans can do whatever they want round here...and we go over there and its like a buffet walks into their neighborhood...its ridiculous...the only explaination is that this is what being poor does to societies...
I couldn't agree more with you. Every time I go to Tijuana in my car I do NOT get red carpet treatment as the Mexicans do here. Last time I was there with my girlfriend we were pulled over for no reason. We were searched and they found my girlfriends legally prescribed drugs, which are also legal in Mexico. I was nearly arrested with "felony charges of transporting illegal drugs". I nearly went to prison over this. All they wanted was 300 bucks for me to be released. Luckily they dropped it and left. That wasn't the first time but I hope it is the last. The cops in Mexico are nothing but a bunch of thieves. And this one time in Rosarito I was pulled over and charge 150 bucks. So beware of Mexico, Americans you will not get the same red carpet treatment Mexicans get. You'll be lucky to come back with all your belongings.
In the southern part of Mexico that borders Central America illegal immigrants are routinely robbed, raped and murdered by the local authorities. These immigrants only want to work for a better living in Mexico but are denied the basic of civil rights by the Mexican government. This same Mexican government calls the treatment of its citizens by the US "inhumane".

I just wonder why the US government doesn't speak out against the treatment of these Central American immigrants and continues to support such a corrupt and broken system in Mexico.

I think someone is making alot of money on both sides of the border to keep quiet.
it does suck, back when I was a teenager we (four friends) went down to TJ to catch a donkey show and do some whores and get wasted, on the drive home my friend driving fell asleep at the wheel, we went over a cliff and my three friend in the back seat were all killed. The driver was arrested on three counts of murder, if you kill someone with your car in Mexico you are charged the same as if you used a gun, anyway his uncle is Mexican and lives just outside of TJ, and we were able to give the police three thousand dollars and he was released. just walked right out as if nothing ever happened! we have been robbed many times by the federalize, so much that we started to feel unsafe going down there, so we stopped. it is a one of the most corrupt countries, and rose no whites own anything down there, you can enter into a lease, but you can not own! they did not want immigrants to be able to come down and take over their country! sound familiar?
Totally unfair. I'd try to go down there & demand citizenship, but Mexico has nothing I want.
Ummmmm, NOW YOU KNOW WHY THEY COME HERE FOR A BETTER LIFE.WHEN WILL YOU PEOPLE GET THIS? Would you want to live there? The government is doing this to their own people in Mexico. That is why they come here for a better life. I understand the legal/illegal part but you're not getting the reason for them wanting to leave their own country.
Double standard to say the least.

The United States does nothing about it - but the Mexican gov. sees fit to stick its nose in our gov. business and tell it what they want it to do.

That is why I do NOT go to Mexico. Have no desire to go there at all. Why would I want to go to such a place when there is so much out there that shows the very real danger of even being within such a country?

Makes one wish that those that want to protest here in the United States would go back to their OWN COUNTRY and do something about their OWN PROBLEMS!

As to owning land in Mexico that others spoke of in other answers - link below shows that while an American can possible 'own' property - that such ownership is not like in America and that they really do not 'own' it. A 'trust' where one only 'owns' something for upwards to 50 years and then are "renewable" isn't ownership as those within the United States know ownership. "Mexico's Constitution gives the government control of land and the transfer of ownership rights" means that such 'ownership' is shaky at best.
