If you're against immigration, shouldn't you be loudly objecting to the arrival of the Beckhams?

So they're white and from England. We don't need them, and they're immigrating like millions of others. What's your stand?

Answer:
I dont care if they are purple, as long as they do it legally...thats all I care about..
Sounds like you are being racist by talking about their skin color.
Put your boots on.
no ones against immigration, do your homework.
Yes, if you're against all forms of immigration.

If you object only to illegal immigration, though, you'd have to accept the arrival of Mr. Beckham, even though he's bringing one of the Spice Girls with him...

You have to give him credit though, he's doing a job Americans don't want to: soccer. Unfortunately, Americans don't want to watch it, either...
were against illegal immigration not IMMIGRATION in general stupid how long did it take you to figure that up
I don't know of anyone who is "against immigration" when done properly. Plenty of Americans, including myself, are against ILLEGAL immigration. The Beckams are not illegal immigrants.
YOU SEEM TO BE MISSING THE POINT ON IMMIGRATION.
THEY ARE NOT COMING IN ILLEGALLY, BUT AS A PROFESSIONAL ATHLETE & HIS WIFE TRYING TO GET AMERICANS EXCITED ABOUT A SPORT THAT IS ABOUT AS INTRESTING AS WATCHING EITHER PAINT DRY OR GRASS GROW. OTHER THAN THAT YOU SIR ARE A RACIST.
Only if they come here illegally. As to not being needed, that could probably apply to you. Where do you want to be sent?
I don't think they are border hopping illegally. Who here is against all immigration? I have yet to see that come up. What people are against is ILLEGAL immigration. Hard to be here without permission when the entire country is aware you are coming.
We might not need them, but I am sure they are coming through proper channels, doing it the right way. Plenty of stars from other countries live here. None have been found sneaking across our borders. Most end up on the news with cameras in their faces. Sneaky huh?
Hello!!! Most people aren't against immigration, we are against ILLEGAL immigration. Notice that word that is in front of immigration it has meaning. They have broken a law to get here and contrary to popular belief not all that come here are honest citizens. Over 300000 illegals are in our prison system for committing a felony. Personally, I don't want those people here and without some way to verify who is coming into our country we can not be sure if they are criminal or not. Why can't you people discern the difference between immigration and ILLEGAL immigration?
They came legally right? Then there is no problem.
There is nothing wrong with legal immigration. "They are white and we don't need them"?? That's awfully narrow minded. They will not be feeding off the system. They are not coming illegally. In fact, his presence will likely help the tourism of his home town because there will be much more attraction to his team.
You don't get it. They are coming here legally. Beckham is playing soccer for the LA Galaxy.

Here, maybe you'll understand this:

Illegal immigration (breaking the law) = bad :-(
Legal immigration (following the law) = good :-)
When 20 milliion illegal Beckhams come here, I'll be loudly objecting. When you ask a question like that, you demonstrate what so many illegal aliens demonstrate every day. They dont even understand what the issue is. NOBODY is against legal immigration. And no, just because you claim to be legal according to some misguided right of entitlement, you are not. The Beckhams are coming here legally under whatever Visa you need to play sports here. End of story. So do the many baseball players from The Dominican, Japan and other countries around the world. The Beckhams are no different than Vlad Guererro or Pedro Martinez. They follow the law and are working here legally.

Of course, you couldnt make your statement using a latino, could you now? I wonder if people who make such comments will ever figure out that they are the racists.

EDIT: The irony of this guy's statement is that Beckham, in playing for LA, will probably put money in the pockets of tens of thousands of Los Angeles illegals in the form of tips, money spent in their stores, selling T shirts etc and actually creating more jobs because of the increased attendance at the games. It will also raise awareness and interest in the game of soccer. If you've ever lived in Los Angeles and saw the Mexican soccer team come to town, you'd realize how important the game is to them. It far eclipses baseball in America. If anybody besides the team owner is going to benefit from Beckham coming here, it's the latino community in the Los Angeles community.
Every person in the united states is a disendant of immigrants unless they are native americans. I'm a "white Brittish immigrant" too. So whats your point?
I think they have a Visa- sweet heart- unlike the 13 million illegal immigrants currently inside our borders that could have put forth the effort to at least get a Visa too.
A Visa is what makes you a legal immigrant and a welcome guest- otherwise you are just a criminal trespasser subject to deportation upon discovery.
Against only illegal immigration, not "immigration" in general. These are two different cases. OK?

Beckham did it legally!
your welcome to them
I'm against ILLEGAL immigration. The Beckhams are coming legally and skin color has nothing to do with it in my eyes. Sounds like skin color is a big thing to you though.
You are missing a major fact! They are here LEGALLY! I am against ILLEGAL immigration. There is a huge difference!!

I don't care if the illegal is from Canada, England, Cuba or Africa. If they are ILLEGAL they don't belong here!
Illegal immigration is the problem. I dont care if someone comes legally. Someone is paying him alot of money to come here to play. So they must think they need him.
your using their language and if you are white somewhere your family tree an ancestor would be an immigrant into your country and if not somewhere down your family tree your ancestors could have been illegal immigrants or legal immigrants
Last I heard they followed the required legal procedures to enter the US. Additionally, they have demonstrated as part of their application procedure that they are financially able to take care of themselves and will not place a financial burden on public services and the US taxpayer. Lastly, Beckam and his wife are being sponsored by the team he is working for. So no I don't have a problem with "LEGAL IMMIGRANTS" who will not only not be a burden on the taxpayer while sending most of their income to another country. I strongly suspect He and Posh will spend a great deal of their income here buying houses, cars, trips, manicures, etc. Race has nothing to do with the situation. The argument is Legal immigration vs. Illegal immigration. Apples and Oranges. Your argument is spurious.
They came legally. If they came illegally then that's another matter
Get this in your head please!

Americans are against ILLEGAL IMMAGRATION, not legal immigration.

I'm pretty sure the Beckhams are legal since they pass through airport with LEGAL documents.
is it just me, or do the pro-amnesty people think anti-amnesty americans are against immigration completely? do they not understand the difference between 'illegal' and 'legal'?
well here:
Definition of legal: of or in agreement with the law
Definition of Illegal: Not according to, or authorized by, law

the beckhams filed for and was approved for a work visa.. this has been well documented an posted all over entertainment tonight, extra, cnn, fox, espn, etc... he followed the law, so theres not many anti-amnesty people that are going to say a thing about it.. thats all we ask.. follow the law.

"You have to give him credit though, he's doing a job Americans don't want to: soccer". <--that made me laugh.
They are coming legally.
