Why do native Americans look so much like Mexicans?

Because they´re the same race (mongoloid). The Mayans and Aztecs are descendents of the Native Americans. They migrated from the north to the south across the land bridge that is now the Bering Strait about 40,000 years ago.
Native Americans are NOT illegal immigrants. They just stayed put while the other tribes moved south.
You probably can't tell Chinese and Korean people apart either.
You have it the wrong way round. Many Mexicans have Native blood from Mexico's Mayan and Aztec populations.
You probably can't tell Americans and Russians apart. Or German and Italians apart. It depends what part of Mexico people are from. Some are shorter and darker, and they have more of an indian look.
Actually the white Europeans are the ones here illegally. The Indians were here first. And they way they look is as varied as the blacks tribes in Africa. There are tribes that are mostly tall, ones that have more pointed facial features, ones with more rounded facial features, light skin tones, dark skin tones, and on and on.
The illegals are the ones are stole the property of others, and that would be stolen votes too.
Surely you are blind. They look nothing the same. In fact, outside of being human, they appear like two different races to me.
Mexicanos naturales mostly short, husky and with small fingers and hands and a very prominent Aztec style nose, full lips and frequently course dark hair. Facial hair possible.
American indians at least 8-12' taller. Elongated facial features with nose profile that frequently has a back or elongated curve to it. Hair dark but thinnner. No facial hair possible. Some would argue skin color with more redish hue.
Outside of the highly racist aspects of this question, the truth of the matter is we are all human and probubly come from the same source in the beggining.
So what is the point of your question? Yah, I know. But consider that we all are human before Americans stole the land from whomever. If you want to go back in history ...go back all the way.

Try and think of Mexico and Mexicans the way the Black community of America thinks of their race. You have dark Afro-Americans, and light skinned Afro-Americans. We all know why...without discussion.
Okay...now you throw a lot of Spaniards and native Indians into the mix. Same thing. The lighter skinned Mexicans treat the darker ones pretty much like the sub-class of the country.
Okay...now everyone can blast me for saying it. But I've been there, seen it....even discussed it with the locals. The lighter skinned consider themselves the true "Spanish" decedents/bloodline.
Because there is no such thing as a native mexican.
Mexicans are a mix of Indian and Spaniard peoples.
