I HAVE THE SOLUTION TO THE IMMIGRATION PROBLEM. Why won't we do this here in the US?

I'll tell you why we (meaning the government) wont do it - too many special interests and lobbyists. Remember that incident with Wal-Mart locking up the cleaning crew in the store overnight, not to mention, their illegal status came to light, and the Wal-Mart corporationg feigned ignorance of that fact. You have many, many people - wealthy individuals, companies and corporations- who utilize and exploit this group (they would rather pay a substandard wage under the table, than a cost-of-living wage with benefits to hard-working Americans), then claim 'collective amnesia' when they are caught. Im all for slapping these individuals who utilize people who have circumvented our laws with a very stiff penalty; but alas, as long as lobbyists and deep pockets are in play, it is nothing more than a crack pipe dream.
i'm all for harsh fines, but not felony charges.
Because the idea is stupid.
WHere do farmers or small business owners have the money to poor into technology to check if someones papers are real?
You cant blame them for hiring illegals. Hell if they apply, have skills and show up everyday whats the harm?

well, u could do this, but then u would have over-crowded prisons----even worse than they are now. they would have to build more prisons. its a good idea tho. if they built more jails--sort of like an alcarast prison(so that america isnt covered in jails)--maybe it might work. but thats a lot of ppl to arrest. now u have to pay 4 them to be in prison. it would have to be a HUGE fine to cover their prison time.
Practically speaking, it would really only take a few people getting charged (and the media making a big deal out of it) to get the hint to the rest of America.
Once there are no jobs out there for illegals (I don't care HOW pro-illegal you are. You don't want to go to prison), they will start to either a) go home, or b) try to get over here the legal way.
... I don't think that it would hurt to NOT apply the 14th amendment to them, either. It wasn't intended for border jumpers.

Right on dude!!! Some of my neighbors used to have illegals working for him.
This wont work because many jobs are taken by illegals immigrants, if you idea is passed, then the whole economy will come crashing down.
