Should illegal immigrants get in line like everyone else ?
Until we have security and some semblance of border control, most Americans will not support any benefits, amnesty, or whatever you want to do to help the illegal immigrant. This is the basic problem with your philosophy and those who supported the legislation. Security first. Then we will listen to other changes.
You need to impress upon us that you care more about us then you do illegal immigrants. And some of us have relatives waiting years to get in and the people you support can walk across tonight. THEY MUST GET IN LINE LIKE EVERYONE ELSE!
Here is my proposal. Feel free to run with it.
1. Do the job you swore to do. Enforce the current laws. Support and reinforce the officers working the border. Support a federal law directing local police and other law enforcement to take action to detain and initiate deportation of those here illegally. Jail employers of illegal immigrants.
2. No benefits for those in the country illegally. Exception, those with true emergency medical conditions will receive treatment while their deportation is initiated.
3. Initiate a constitutional amendment to stop the anchor baby phenomenon.
4. Build the fence.
5. Change the immigration quotas to reflect real needs justified by industry and/or states. Make the justifications public. So the average American knows how many we are allowing in and why. We will support something logical, fair, and needed AFTER our security is taken care of.

To be honest, I am beginning to change my mind about sending them back and to get to the back of the line...I just think that maybe we should send them back period without applying at all...think about it...they broke the law the first time...who's to say they wont break the law once they get back in again?
1. Sign a new Executive Order like the one dated 11/15/2002 that stopped the Hatians. ( a little cut-and-paste and it's good to go)
2. ... and bill their country of origin for the cost of the care...if not paid within 30 days, deduct it from any of the undeserved financial aid they received from us annually.
3. ... and deport the parents and any other family immediately while we wait for the change.
4. ... with excessive lengths of barbed wire, and a moat on each side.
5. ... exclude any third world countries that previously exceeded their previous quotas by 2% from the program for a period of no less than 20 years.
Amen brother! I would change number to 4 to send troops to the north and south borders and completely shut them down. All freight must be scanned and inspected not every 50 or so everyy one of them or they don't come in, period!
Al-Qaida is more than likely going to strike this country and again this summer! we need to immmediately close these stinking borders once and for all. Al-Qaida has already been caught sliping into the country from Mexico thats a fact for all you bleeding hearts out there!

Very well said, we are a country of failure within ourselves when it comes to protecting our own borders within the US, instead of spending billions of dollars on a war that does not make sense, spend on cleaning up our illegal alien problem, I would love to be able to walk into a quick mart without having to wade through a swarm of "dayworkers" at 1:00 in the afternoon yet!
