What do you people think about all the illegal immigration issues in the U.S?

Answer:
They are deplorable and any politician out there who thinks amnesty is the answer has no business representing this country and should be deported themselves for treason.
I wish people were better informed on the issue.
The politicians are finally starting to listen to the people, as the defeat of the amnesty bill proves. NO AMNESTY FOR CRIMINALS!
I think the majority of the Citizens are very much against it. beware as the Senate will continue to try and slip this through when we least expect it.
It is very sad that some people are trying to do something for a change but can get nowhere because of the selfishness of others
Its unfair how the undocumented are being treated. They have established roots here and deserve a chance to prove they deserve to live here. And we also need to enforce our borders.
I think that the illegals have to go, they aren't doing either of our countries any good. Yeah they are cheap labor, and we get some benefits from that, but most of the benefits go to a very small group.

The harm they do is putting a large drain on our resources. The harm they do to their own country is that the best workers come here if they can, and in the process do nothing to improve their homeland. An estimated 12 million illegal Mexicans could make a big difference in improving their own country if they wanted to.

Yeah they help their country short term by sending money to their families, but that is only a temporary fix. If amnesty were given again, in 20 years we would be right back here again in the same situation.
How do we protect our sovereignty and enforce our laws without being draconian? Its the million dollar question. I for one, have absolutely no idea.

Calling an illegal alien, undocumented, is like calling a burglar an uninvited guest. They illegaly came to the united states knownig their actions were illegal. They steal jobs, and send their money back home. If they wish to live here, do it legally and keep the money in the US.
Well, it's illegal. Not a crime.
It's amazing to me how many work here illegally and think they are so smart My wife is Asian we have traveled the U.S.many from her country tell us they are working illegally and smile about it
there should be no amnesty at all. I think if people really want something they should go about it the correct the way. My grandfather came from Ireland; he got his papers and learned english (he spoke Gaelic) and got a job. America has been taken advantage of for decades. Dont get me wrong, legal immigration is well and good - its the illegals that are the issue. We are not bad people for wanting this in place. When americans move to other countries we need the proper documentation and thats all we're looking for.
No amnesty!! Secure the border and levy a fine on all employers that hire illegals.
I think that there needs to be more border control, for those that are here now, I think that they have a right to show that they deserve to be here. I think that a pyramid type of thing would work if it was dine along with border control, and different immigration laws.

I understand also the reason for many of the people that come here. Alot of the people who come here illegally do so for their families. To work to make money to feed them, and to give them a better life. So many people say well they should come the legal way. Wait it out. That would be fine and dandy, but the problem with that is with the way that immigration laws are now, those who NEED to come here (those who come here illegally - and with this comment no I am not saying that those that can come here don't need to come here, I am saying that there are those that are in need of a way to make money for their families survival) do not qualify to be able to come here. Even if they waited x teen amount of years they don't nor would they qualify to come here. So I think that law needs to be changed a little bit to make it easier for people to come here.

As for border control I honestly don't know what to do. We can build a fence or a wall, but that wouldn't stop illegal immigrants. It would just cause the price to come here to rise, and it would become more dangerous and more deaths would happen.

I think for those that are here, they should have a chance to apply and prove that they deserve to be here. For those that have been over here 5+ years, they can apply for work permit, then green card, and then citizenship normally (timewise) and pay a fine of say $2500. If you are here from 2-5 years then you pay the fine of $5000 and your wait times between each paper (work permit to green card to citizenship) is longer than normal. Say 1.5 times longer. If you have been here for less than 2 years, then you have x amount of time to finish working, make some money, then go back to your country and apply there. In that x amount of time that the people who have been here 2 years or less have, the businesses have that same amount of time to get their software updated and the government has that amount of time so that every business in the country has a way of verifying every employee, including that are working as sub contracters etc. etc. And it goes without saying that every person that applies has to have a serious background check done, and passed for everyone as well.
illegal is a crime. tat's not fair to those legal immigrant contributing TAX and those go through a legal way to live in U.S.
