Do visitors from the U.S.A need a visa to visit Europe. IE: France and Holland.?

my friends are coming to the UK soon from arizona and would like to visit begium and france to see the war graves and some of holland where there grandfather was in 1944-45, they hold american passpots and are all american, so will they need travel visa's for europe.

Answer:
As far as I know all of the EU countries (including France and Holland) have the same rules regarding American visitors. All you need is a passport as long as you're staying in the country for less than 90 days. Anything longer than that will most likely require a visa or at least some registration with local authorities to explain why they're in the country for so long.
Not that I know of.
I don't think they do-- I did alot of bus. travel to the UK and never needed a Visa. I did a trip to Germany from the UK and didn't require one either. I've been to Italy as well (years ago) and never needed a visa---

all travel on US or Aussie passports.

have your mates check the US state dept. web site.
Yes they do.
The USCIS lists the nations in the visa waiver program on their website www.uscis.gov... I imagine the program is generally reciprocal. Also websites from the embassies of the countries in question should have this information... many nations do not require a visa (or let's say they don't require a previous application for a visa, the passport stamp is technically a visa)
Not for western EU. For places like russia, china, countries we're not on the greatest of terms with you need to apply for a visa.
I don't think so. I think their passports will be enough. They should check before going however; the website below should have the answer.
I believe you'd only need a visa if you were going to spend longer than 3 (or is it 6?) months. However if you're just going to spend no more than a couple months or so, you don't need one to my knowledge. Here's a link from the French Consulate in New York City which addresses some of these questions: http://consulfrance-newyork.org/article....
A call to the Dept. of State will clarify, but, I believe it might not be necessary. Just the passport.
If they are only visiting for a short time, no.....just a passport.
nope . america n europe are best mates dont need visas
tell them to go to www.travel.state.gov it will tel about coming to the us and other nations rules. it has a full list of nations.
A passport will do unless they plan on staying longer than three months. Than a visa will probably be necessary.
Passports is all they need...

Just been there : )
