the french have an ocean between them and their immigrants. we do not. if we paid them to leave they would come back the next day with a different name and want to be paid to leave again.

An interesting thought, but..(there's always a but). Our borders are so poorly enforced that if we paid illegal immigrants to leave, they'd be back by the weekend, just driving a nicer car. Perhaps treating them like the criminals they are (in violation of our immigration laws), pick them up and deport them, might just be worth a shot.
Guess they aren't willing to wake up till there's mass riots and cars being burned in the streets for them to wake-up and realize all these illegals aren't good hard working people just looking for a job. The US needs to take a hard look because I don't care how rose colored your glasses are.this amnesty is not in the best interest of this country or it's citizens.

Ironic The French get a President with Guts to Deal with illegals, and our President turns into a Liberal.
When the US makes it attainable for normal people to immigrate legally, that is when I will see illegal imigrants as criminals. I came legally, and it took 4 years and a lot of $. At the same time, criminals should be automatically deported and never allowed back in. If they've committed things like murder or child molestation then they should be executed if it can be proved beyond any doubt.
The problem is that criminals in this country have more rights than honest people who just want to have a life in the US.
Also, immigration should be closed to all muslims. We have enough headaches to deal with. We don't need any more potential terrorists.
And after 5 years in the US, they should have to pass an exam in basic english... if they can't, they don't belong here. We don't need more people who refuse to integrate themselves in society. My 65 year old mother in law who came from eastern europe 6 months ago can now speak better english than some latino teenagers that lived their whole life in the US.

why would anyone want to pay law breakers to leave, besides they would be back in a few weeks to get another payment to leave . Few candidates are taking a cue from France, but not regarding immigrants, and the cue they are taking, I do not care for that to be imposed on US citizens.
