People are blinded by their ideology and that if they disagree with the law then it's okay to break the law instead of actually work to change the law and punish those who have broken. Allowing people to choose which laws they agree with and will therefore abide by and which they disagree with and therefore justify (and/or reward) for breaking just brings about anarchy. What's to stop someone from saying to themselves, "I disagree with the laws against killing if I'm killing (put in any person or group here), I'm going to go kill (same person or group)?"

Ignorance is the problem the time frames for processing a green card force people to become illegal status, on msnb news it was stated that time frame for applying for a green card for people in Mexico is a wait period of 176 years.
I am English and a son of an American and I have waited 17 years so far for a green card and I have been told could be another 7 years because of 911.
Stop the crazy inhumane waiting periods and you would get less illegal aliens.

Assuming you meant illegal aliens, then they've broken a law to enter the country. So what do you propose? That anyone who has broken a law shouldn't be able to provide for their family "and blah blah blah"? What about people who are listening to illegally downloaded music? Should each individual who has done this not be granted this right until those fines to the music industry have been paid? Jaywalkers around the nation should pay up for each time they've jaywalked before being allowed to go on?

Illegal simply means you broke a law. If it is a law that the government of that area chooses to not enforce, then you really haven't broken a law.
For example, the speed limit. The law says 70 mph is the legal limit. Anything over 70 is illegal and if you drive over 70, you are technically illegal. However, if the HP decides to let you drive 80 mph, then are you really breaking the law?
Same thing with borders. It is illegal to come over the border without proper documentation, but if the Government allows you to and then treats you like a citizen, are you really illegal?
In the immigration case and with the new immigration bill, illegally crossing the border puts you on the fast track to citizenship.
The problem we have is that not only are they illegal, but they illegally vote and elect the people who will reward them with citizenship. This is almost as good as having the lottery folks call you before the drawing to tell you what the numbers will be.
