Since posted in immigration issues I would say things that would come up at an immigration interview.
ask the teacher..He/She should have her lesson plans prepared in advance as directed by her school district.
All lessons.curriculum are sourced...a specific book/mandated curriculum, etc.
If she just picked the words from the paper, then ask why?
If you don't get and answer, go see the principal and ask to see the sources for the current spelling curriculum of the fourth grade.
