Native Americans owned what is now known as the united states of america. The europeans decided to colonize the land because it was how countries were considered to be strong. The more territory they owned, the stronger they appear. Besides, alot of europeans wanted to find gold, spices, slaves, and other exotic plants and precious metals.

First of all, we are "catering" to Spanish-speaking people because we stole Puerto Rico (A Spanish speaking country), which is set to be a state sooner than later. So all this talk about Hispanics not learning the language is based on utter ignorance and this false superiority complex that many Americans have. Seriously, when has America ever catered to anybody, unless it was in our best interest to do so? And who said English was ever the official language here?
