Why is history so easy to forget?
Answer:
Thank you for asking the same question I have been thinking for the past week that I have been a member of this thing. So much hatred and so much insecurity can only come from ignorance. Ignorance about our past as a country and the pasts of all immigrants, both legal and illegal. I would love to know what part of the country all of the people answering are from. Living in the Northeast, more urban, better educational systems, I think we have less people that think the way alot of the people answering on here do. Case in point, our states didn't go to Bush. But it has definitely opened my eyes as to why so many other states did...a population as ignorant as him??
probablly cuz it's so boring
If they want to try to get our land like our ancestors did, by killing, bring it on. Maybe another Mexican/American war will actually improve the s***hole that is Mexico.
Looks like you're the history moron here. blah blah blah
Forget?
Are you assuming we paid attention in History class to start with.
so you propose that we fix a wrong with another wrong? yeah, i dont think that is how things are supposed to be done in normal societies. move to guadalajara if you love mexico so much. trust me, i wont stand in your way, amigo.
maybe cause it's boring.
I agree. 1986 was a particularly good year, we tried amnesty for the first time, well hey maybe it will be better in 2007, your right we never remember or learn from our past.
Your forgetting another part what was said about the Irish, German and Italian immigrants, and how they were not able to assimilate. People tend to forget that German immigrants had their own schools and churches, and people in the 1900's were hostile to them. Not to mention "Yellow Peril" of the late 1800's.
People tend to forget history. However this is not the first time in the US history that immigration has been a issue. It's just made to seem as a new thing.
I see what you are saying. Like when the Spaniards killed the Incas who naively thought they were their friends to take Mexico.
