report it missing so someone can't use it,and if you are going somewhere...better get a new one cause they take like 4 months to get back now!

i will give inform to friends in that country to Whit do and how to contact the immigration people and Will ask is there any experience before this to any one of Ur knowing people if not i Will contact immigration dept. and follow their rules of that country with legal help
You need to file a police report that you have lost your passport. You also need to apply for another one at the post office. you will need to file a lost/stolen form at the post office. If you travel by air back into the U.S. you need to have prof that your have an application for a U.S. Passport pending. If you are coming back by land you still are not required to present a passport.
