There was a story about a sheriff in Florida a couple weeks ago. He'd get a bunch of cops together, a go to constrution sites. The illegals would scatter, and the cops would chase them, and arrest them on various charges (ie trespassing). Their immigration status would be checked, and the illegals deported.
Great idea.
How's about a soccer match b/w the U.S. National Team and the Mexican National Team? If the U.S. wins, illegal Mexican immigrants must return to their homeland.
P.S. I don't have much of a problem with illegal immigrants from Mexico, but I do have a problem with the risk of Al Quaeda crossing a porous border.

set a date that is well known...anyone caught here illegally after that date will be deported, after punishment.
all people deported need fingerprinted and if caught additional times, punished accordingly.
also, after that date, any business caught hiring them will be closed down, no exceptions.
after that date, any property owner caught renting to them will get their property seized.
after that date, anyone caught harboring them will also risk punishment and loss of their property.
