Canadian Citizen marrying Green Card Holder (also Cdn Citizen)?

My boyfriend has a greencard, we are both Canadian citizens, am I eligible for one automatically too?? Do I really have to wait for another 5 years for approval?

Answer:
You cannot get a green card automatically. If you marry him, he can petition for you and you are subject to the numerical limits on that category of immigrants. You would be an F2A, and right now priority dates of 22 Mach 2002 are current - this means about a five-year wait.
