First off, I'd like to say my girlfriend had her appointment today in Mexico City and was denied her visa because she didn't have money in the bank. I was sponsoring her and have 20,000 dollars in the bank but apparently that didn't matter. The reason was 214(b) if I remember correctly. I am very disappointed nobody told me about this ahead of time because I asked a dozen questions on here regarding her visa. Now I am going to end up paying for her travels to Mexico City again, food, hotel, all visa fees, and the stress that goes along with it. Please tell me how much $ she is supposed to have to qualify for a B2 Visa

She needs to have "her" money in "her" account, not "your" money in "your" account,,,we just want to make sure she is not going to leech off our system, we already have way too many leeches,,,,,,,,,
I don't see why you can't transfer money into her account. The US government informed me that I would need $250,000 USD lying untouched in my bank account before I would be allowed in. I am British by the way. in the end my Texan husband and I decided to live in the UK.. was less hassle and he wanted to leave anyway. For an outsider marrying a US citizen it does not give her automatic right to live there I found out.
