1. I believe you are lying when you put those comments in quotes.
2. How do you know those people were "illegal?" There are several million people in the U.S. who have immigrated from Mexico. Go to the courthouse for the next naturalization ceremony and see for yourself.
3. If race is enough reason to be required to prove your status, then keep in mind that there are currently several hundred thousand illegal immigrants from Ireland in the U.S. and so such a rule would allow immigration folks to deport any caucasion who happened to not have proof of citizenship in his pocket at the moment.
Probably bc its NOT HIS JOB to be asking ANYONE for proof of legal status! He knew he had no authority to do so and if he did there would be some harsh consequences! And you cannot be 100% sure they're illegal bc they look "Mexican"!
