Is America a Policing country, which George Washington was originally worried about?

George Washington gave a warning in his Farewell Address that America is a country of democracy and freedom. He stated his fears that America is becoming a policing nation, attempting to control or help other countries, and will stretch itself too far, and hurt itself in the process.
Is that fear dipicted in American society today and becoming an actual issue with Afghanistan, Iraq, Iran, Vietnam, North Korea, and etc?
Though I know that America is benefiting from economics and also suffers from it, oil, taxes, and lost American lives, is America focusing too much on other nations before itself?

Answer:
I was about to kind of agree with you then burst out laughing at your 'exclusion'. Except when they need us, and then we should always be there?

No, I think you had it right to begin with. We need to take care of our own, and keep our armies and money home.
No.

If america did nothing during WW2, europe and the middle east and north africa would be speaking german and breeding super soldiers to take over america.
Thats interesting to hear, Wow George had great foresight!!~ we need to start looking inward and get ourselves right before we help others! NO TO ILLEGALS
Yes. Most of our foreign battles have been unconstitutional. Since when are we to act as the world's policemen at our soldier's expense? Where will our own national defense cease to exist because they are scattered all throughout the world?
It's not by choice...but by responsible behavior.

Any country that cares to participate (some few others do) will be greatly welcome.

Most let money define their morality .secure in the knowledge that USA and it's few responsible allies will protect them ... ultimately from their own misdeeds .. like providing arms and dangerous technology to the likes of Iran and North Korea
No. But sometimes it's apporopriate to step in and temporarily play policeman. People don't think so, but if all the other countries in the world crumbled, it would directly affect the U.S. World stability is a good thing.
Yes, it is focusing too much on other nations. We are taking care of everyone else besides ourselves. In a sense, this could be considered treason.

Charity starts at home.
We currently have troops in over 100 countries! Elect Ron Paul, and he'll bring our men and women home! He'll push for a balanced budget that will not involve neglecting the People! Watch the Republican Presidential debates tonight on CNN at 7et/6c.

This isn't an advertisement, I just am really all about Ron Paul!
GW was also worried about political parties and we went and did that too

The focus will continue to be on the outside for some time, until some great tragedy happens to the Upper Tier
What would a beaner know about what George Washington said or meant?

In his farewell address he warned about the dangers of eating too many tacos too. What about the slaughter of the Aztecs? Mendoza, the peninsulares, the Hidalgo revolt, José María Morelos, Guerrero, Anastasio Bustamante, Juan O'Donojú, Antonio López de Santa Anna, Benito Pablo Juárez, Maximilian, Gen. Díaz, Francisco Madero, Victoriano Huerta, Emiliano Zapata, Poncho Villa, Venustiano Carranza, Plutarco Elías Calles, Álvaro Obregón, and Adolfo de la Huerta ?

Do you begin to see a pattern here? The U.S. offered stability to the world. What have other countries offered? One war after another. thats what. Don't be so anxious to point a finger. You'll have 3 pointing back at you.
