Should America Admit all Immigrants?
"Admit" can mean whatever you want...Should America LET IN all immigrants? OR Should America Allow All Immigrants to Become Citizens

We definitely have our own problems and we obviously can't save the world. We could admit SOME. If you believe some should be admitted, who? What is your opinion?
Answer:
We as a nation have limited numbers that are let in legally from other country's.This is to try to keep control of the population etc.No we should not "admit or let in" anyone that wants to come here and become a citizen.We already have a disproportionate amount of poor and un/under educated people from many country's.This nation can only support so many legal immigrants of this nature.The illegal aliens are making this country reduce the number of legal people it will allow in this nation.The illegal aliens are causing many people to miss out on the hope of living their (legal immigrant)American dream.
I feel there should be a 5 to 10 year moratorium on all legal immigration until our borders are secured and the illegal alien problem is taken care of once and for all.
No way. We need to temporarily shut down the borders and cut off as much immigration as possible until we can get a handle on the illegal immigrants that are here.
I personally don't think we should let immigrants become U.S. citizens because we already have a high population rate as it is.

Absolutely, if it is done Legally
America should allow all PROSPECTIVE immigrants to become citizens IF they meet the present criteria for citizenship. No criminals, no people with communicable diseases, no people without a means to support themselves. My grandparents, parents, aunts/uncles jumped through all the hoops and so should everyone else!
Unless all the citizens plan on packing up and leaving there wouldn't be the space, resources or jobs or anything else to take every person that wanted to come here.
No, we already have a major problem with illegals. I believe we should shut off all borders until we control the current problem. And find an effective means of border security. We already have a high population. I think we should better screen future immigrants to help keep out troublemakers.

The policy most countries have is to allow people in who are:
1) Able to speak the language. This allows people to communicate and take part in the community.
2) Healthy. Self-explanitory. It's important that someone coming in doesn't make the citizens of their new home sick.
3) Able to support themselves and their family. Again, this makes sense. The new country should not be responsible for taking care of people wanting to come in - if they did that, they'd be completely broke very quickly.
4) Skilled in an area of need. The person must have skills that are needed in that country. This doesn't refer to a large group coming in and working for a significantly lower amount of money, thus putting citizens out of work. This refers to, for example, a country with a serious nursing shortage or teaching shortage.
5) Interested in contributing to the country they're moving to - interested in being a part of the community. This is not about the new country adapting to them, it's about them adapting to their new home while retaining and sharing some of their own culture.
6) Willing to follow the laws, rules and customs of the new country.
In addition, most countries allow only a certain number to come in. This allows the country to retain it's national pride and culture.
So, should we just open the borders and tell anyone who can get here they're a citizen?
Let me phrase it this way - if you opened up your house and just let anyone who wanted to to move in and live there - how would that work out?
America should admit LEGAL Immigrants!!
