Im filing to adjust status but I want to travel. Im filing the i-131. Am I considered as an advanced parole?
Answer:
Yes, you are requesting advance parole.
You can skip to part 7.
Estimate your departure date--generally 3-6 weeks out.
Estimate duration of trip--two weeks is common
Request multiple entry, not single entry
It's good for one year, at which time you will hopefully have your permanent residency. If not, file another I-131.
I don't know about the departure date, but I'd imagine the more accurate and the more info you can put down, the better.
From the USCIS website:
"Special Instructions:
Filing Period for Renewal of an Advance Parole Document: If you are applying for renewal of your advance parole document (I-512L or I-512), USCIS will accept and adjudicate Form I-131 filed up to 120 days before the date your current Advance Parole document expires."

You could try speaking to USCIS, but I understand it can be pretty hard to get a human. Since you don't know your exact departure date, you can try emailing them and see if you can get answer that way.
Good luck!
