If a passport is not granted due to incomplete or false info., will I have to refile or will they contact me_?

I had a very short, huge mistake of a marriage. Id pushed it out of
mind for years and have no way of contacting my ex. Im afraid that Id put down the wrong birthday when filing. Will they reject my application or contact me for more information to better identify him?

You have to refile. They will not contact you. My sister had the same problem.
