Immigration reform?
I think most of the 12 millions illegal immigrants are fed up of seeing some of there families get deported. They also had an immigration rally where some of them march for a path to citizenship. I feel sorry for these people . How long and how soon these people have to wait for a path to citizenship. I hear they will be a new bill next week. Something need to be done. What do you think will take place and how soon
Answer:
I would rather start a process for residency, not amnesty.
Have a plan where those who wish to become legal immigrants have to start the process within 6 months. They'll pay an initial application fee, then the normal costs of residency. This will serve as a temporary residency, that must be renewed within 2 years once they prove that they have paid taxes (and in most cases back taxes) and that they are not a drain on the economy.
After 6 months, those who have not enrolled in the program to adjust status will be deported.
That way, those who will be beneficial to the US economy have a way to stay, and those who are a drain will go.
By providing a time-frame and an opportunity, those in favor of supporting the illegals who support the country will have no excuse for not applying. "They had an opportunity to better themselves and the country but chose not to, therefore we have no choice but to deport them."
Yet the plan is still strong enough to assuay the fears of all the people who say that illegals are crowding out our school systems and draining our healthcare programs.
Honestly, I don't care. I don't think we should be letting anyone into this country anymore. Look at what happened when we did. If they weren't born here or the aren't here on visas they should be sent back home.
i would rather give amnesty to those here now and then close the borders.
The process doesn't need to reformed, it needs to be followed. Like myself, an Irish immigrant who paid and waited for the process legally.
How about until they learn how to obey the law and wait their turn in line behind the other 12 million or so that are waiting out side the USA and didn't sneak across the borders and break our laws
i don't feel sorry for law breakers. it's already a legal way to enter USA.
I agree something need to be done. What you can do is call your senators office and tell them that you would like for your senator to SUPPORT THE IMMIGRATION REFORM. Then call the white house, and congressman's office. We can all make a difference.
Illegals fed up with getting deported? How odd is that?
You know what, I'm fed up with paying taxes; think I'll stop for awhile!
I think that the people who are here illegally should be sent back. They chose to come here knowing it was illegal! It makes it so much harder for those people waiting in Mexico waiting, going through all of the legal steps to get admission into the US. Those people that are too impatient and irresponsible to do it the proper way are making it so much more difficult for the people who have done it right and deserve to be allowed to come here. The responsible ones!
