Should Mexico get tough on Americans entering their country?

The Americans who cross into Mexico do not take jobs or send Mexican money back to the US. The Americans who cross into Mexico bring American money with them which they spend in Mexico, helping the Mexican economy. This is especially true with retirees who move to Mexico and live off a steady stream on American money they spend there. Mexico wants as many Americans to come in as possible!!
They go legally and spend money. Mexican hospitals make them pay up front.
Go right ahead and tighten laws. In fact, let's make ours just like Mexicos - no poor immigrants, a foreigner can NEVER vote or hold political office, foreigners can't work unless fluent in the country's language, and jail for those caught illegally.

I notice all these reasons you list are goods and services which we PAY for LEGALLY within the borders of Mexico. No skin off my nose shut the border down, you will only be hurting the Mexican economy - American $$ is a large part of the economy of Mexico.

Problem with that is, when Americans go down there, we do it LEGALLY, many of the Mexicans coming here do it ILLEGALY. There is just a tad difference is all.
The big difference is we are not staying, we are not forcing them to teach our children IN ENGLISH, we are not expecting Mexico to bend to our laws, we are not putting our American Flag above theirs, we are not filling their jails with illegals. Mexico has very tough immigration laws.
Nobody gives a damn if Mexicans visit, we just don't want them to come here illegally and stay.

You see the difference is, that Americans bring money INTO Mexico, while illegals only take from the USA and bring nothing but allegedly cheap labor in.
We Shouldn't be rude but they shouldn't be able to jsut come over. They might be carrying disease. Every thing in life is never free. They should have to pay like every other american does.
Yeah, that would be a good idea. Tourism, on which the Mexican economy depends, would dry up overnight. Any foolish American who would go to Mexico for prescription drugs or surgery, deserves what they get.

Not really. Most American's do not wish to break the law.
We don't go to Mexico intending to stay there permenently and ILLEGALLY. Mexico does not provide higher paying under the table jobs that I don't have to pay taxes on. They also don't give away free medical care, education, food stamps, housing, wellfare, and other social programs, because my earnings are not reported and I am considered poor.
As previously mentioned... You’re missing the point. American’s go to Mexico Legally and purchase goods and services. AND THEN WE COME HOME. We typically do not go over the boarder, take low paying jobs that no one wants anyway and burden their school systems, hospitals and other internal systems.
Many Mexicans come to the USA Legally and to them I say Welcome! Please stay! Take part in our economy! Pay taxes like the rest of us! And for goodness sake try to learn the language like our Ancestors did!
But the problem is that many many many more Mexicans, who often are also very good hearted people, come to the US Illegally. I have no problem with the jobs they take because many Americans have become so lazy and so dependent on the Welfare system that they will not work the lower paying jobs and so in many instance they provide a much needed service. But here is the problem... THEY DO NOT PAY TAXES other than sales tax. So they do not contribute to the funds needed to pay for government services. They do not pay for health insurance so the hospitals have to eat the cost or those who do pay have to cover the cost. They put their children into our schools, which again they have not helped to pay for and they make little to no attempt to learn the stinking language and expect everyone to cater to them by us being forced to put up with their language.
So you want to stop Americans from SPENDING MONEY in Mexico. Fine we'll probably just go to Canada for the same thing. Then Mexico will have even less money.

I personally think the guest worker program is the way to go.
Most of these people are good hard working people who just want to feed their families. To that end I say let the one's who are here stay but set them up a way to be leagal and pay taxes and work out something rational. And for goodness sake give them English Language Lessons.
