What country is the most dangerous and you would not want to go to?
I'm looking into volunteer programs abroad. What country should I NOT consider?

First of all, there are a LOT negative reports there weren't true, all of them aimed to scare/terrorize you.
Second of all, there are a LOT positive reports there weren't true, all of them also aimed to scare/terrorize you, by giving you a false sense of security and then traumatize you when something bad happened.
The United States Department of State for example said anything their superior ordered them to say, whether it's truthful or not.
I suggest you check the places by yourself or at least ask a person you trust to be truthful and objective on what he/she said.
It should be at least more truthful than some of the things you hear.
IRAQ,Israil,African countres,Kosovo......
They are all dangerous on some level, ie crime rates, also depending what your religious beliefs are. Much safer to volunteer at home.

Anyone considering volunteering abroad should read this story. Before you go anywhere you should find out all you can about the country that you choose.
At this point I'd say North Korea; Kim Jong IL or whatever that dudes name is, he's a real bad ***. I mean all of that nuclear testing...he must be helping Iran with their nukes.

Personally, were I to volunteer (and I do), I'd stay right here.
The Arabs countries, Colombia for the unstable political situation and the 30 years of guerrilla, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, there is a lot of violence over there, North Korea for many political problems, Philippines, Indonesia and those Asian countries with big Islamic population that have a knack for kidnapping Americans and any human being that looks Western. And in Africa, the situation in Darfur is terrible for the Islamic militias and the sectarian war as well Sudan, Nigeria. It will be better for you to visit the State Department website to have a better information about those countries for your safety if you don't want to appear one day in "breaking news" in CNN.
